Itinerary Detail
Day 1: Visit Mount Moroto
Mount Moroto offers a blend of adventure, culture, and nature, making it an ideal destination for travelers who want to explore the more remote and authentic parts of Uganda.
Here you will be experience activities that include Hiking and Trekking, Cultural Immersion with the Karimojong People, Bird Watching, Camping, Rock Climbing, Visiting the Moroto Market to see the food stuffs of the local people and their crafts
On day one, you will have the opportunity to do the following;
Hiking and Trekking: Mount Moroto is a popular spot for hikers. The mountain offers several trails of varying difficulty levels, allowing visitors to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. The trek to the summit can take several hours and is best for those who love nature and adventure.
Rock Climbing: Here, you may do mountain climbing. The steep rock that faces Mount Moroto are ideal for rock climbing, offering a challenging activity for adventure enthusiasts. Experienced guides can help navigate the climbing routes, making it a thrilling outdoor pursuit.
Bird Watching: You may also experience bird watching. The region around Mount Moroto is home to several bird species, making it an excellent destination for birdwatchers. The diverse landscape, ranging from dry savannah to highland forests, provides a habitat for various birds, including raptors, hornbills, and the endangered Karamoja Apalis.
Photography: As you experience the Mountain, you may enjoy taking your memorable photos as well.The stunning views, dramatic landscapes, and vibrant cultural life make Mount Moroto a perfect spot for photography. Day 2: After Breakfast Drive to Moroto Community
After breakfast get briefs from the guide after which you get on the drive to visit Moroto Markets where you’ll find traditional crafts, fresh produce, and local goods. It’s a great place to interact with locals and purchase handmade items. This will take the whole morning.
In the afternoon engage in cultural immersion with the Karimojong People. The Karimojong are an indigenous ethnic group in the region, known for their rich culture, traditions, and semi-nomadic lifestyle. You will visit local villages to experience their way of life, including traditional dances, music, and rituals. Some tours offer cultural walks and interactions with the community. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to visit and experience the famous Karamojong Manyatta homesteads. In the evening check in the hotel. (I night)
Day 3: Drive to Kidepo Valley National Park
After early morning breakfast, you will get briefs from the guide after which you will embark on a drive to Kidepo Valley National Park located in Karenga District of Karamoja sub region. The journey may take about 3-4 hours from Moroto town. You will arrive at Kidepo Valley in the afternoon. At Kidepo Valley National Park, enjoy Uganda’s Ultimate Wilderness Experience. The Park is Uganda’s most remote national park, and it is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most breathtaking wilderness areas located in the semi-arid valleys of Karamoja. Kidepo Valley National Park boasts of an incredible variety of big game, unique landscapes, and rich birdlife. Kidepo is a home to 4 of the African Safari big five (lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards) and other several animals such as antelopes like the Uganda Kobs, Giraffe, bushbucks, Zebras, Monkeys, cheetahs, cape bucks, mountain reedbuck and many more. It is home to over 77 mammal species and an impressive 476 bird species, making it a prime destination for wildlife lovers and adventure seekers. In the afternoon after lunch, you will have a great bird watching experience after which you will check in the hotel (1 night)
Day 4: Drive in the National Park
After early morning breakfast, receive briefs from our tour guide and then have a road drive in the National Park. Here, you may check out before you get on the road drive in the park such that Immediately after the road drive, you embark on the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe for your flight (1night)
Day 5: Drive to back to Kampala
After early morning breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Kampala or Entebbe as you proceed to catch your flight
