Itinerary Detail

Day 1: Arrival and Orientation

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. You will be welcomed by our tour guide, who will brief you about the tour and Uganda’s agricultural heritage. Transfer you to the hotel at Entebbe or Kampala city for a night. You may have a cultural orientation by our guide to help you learn more about Uganda’s rich farming history, culture, and agricultural significance so that you are well prepared for the trip (1night)

Day 2: After breakfast, visit Kakira Sugar Works Industries

This sugar industry is one of the oldest and largest producers of sugar in East Africa. The industry is located about 80Km east of Kampala. The tour guide will introduce the team to one of the officials at the facility that will help tour the factory and the sugar plantations. The sugar processed in this facility is mostly exported to different destination including Europe and USA. The team will travel to the Source of River Nile before travelling back to Kampala. The team will depart from Kampala at 8:00am towards Kakira Sugar Works, arrive at the factory at about 11:30am, depart from Kakira to Source of the Nile at about 2:30pm, and return to residences in Entebbe or Kampala. Day 3: Luwero Organic Pineapple Farm Tour

Uganda’s pineapples are ranked among the most-sweet organically produced globally. The tour aims at having a great experience of touring the pineapple farm, how the fruit is grown and harvested, and processed ready for local and international markets including Japan, Europe and USA. Pineapple hunting will be among the activities experienced at the farm. The Farm is located ≈60.1Km from Kampala.

After an early breakfast, arrangements of picking guests from hotels will be scheduled at 7:30am. The team meets and gets briefed about the tour. At 7:30am the team will depart Kampala to Luwero, and the anticipated time of arrival will be 10:30am. The guide at the visited facility will lead the tour from Sulma foods drying factory, taking the team through the process of drying organic pineapples. After the factory tour, the guide will lead the team to the pineapple farm and given an opportunity of harvesting your own pineapple after which at 1:30pm have lunch at Sulma Gardens before departure back to Kampala. Day 4: Kalangala Fisheries Research Institute (KaFRI)

The facility is located on one of longest Islands on Lake Victoria about 130 kilometers southwest of Kampala and is accessible by ferry. Lake Victoria is the second largest fresh water lake in the world after the great lakes of Superior in USA. There are so many agricultural activities that take place on the Island including fish farming. Kalangala Fisheries Research Institute has fish farms closer to the Lake shores of Victoria. Activities at the institute include fish farming techniques and aquaculture research. Other agricultural activities include palm oil tree forests. There are beautiful White sand beaches on the shores of this main Island in Lake Victoria.
The team will depart from Kampala/Entebbe at 7:00am to Masaka-Bukakata Land site at 7:00am and arrive at the Land site at 10:00am, board a ferry to the Island which takes 30 Minutes. After the tour the team is advised to sleep on the Island and depart early morning to the next destination. (1 night)

Day 5: Drive back to Kampala

After early morning breakfast, get briefs from our guide and then embark on the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe to catch your flight.
