Itinerary Detail

Day 1: Pick-up from Airport to hotel

Arrive at the airport where you will be picked up by our professional guide. Transfer to the hotel and be briefed so that you are well prepared for the tour. (1 night)

Day 2: After Breakfast Drive to Lake Mburo National Park

Along the way to Lake Mburo N.P, you may have a stop-over to see the equator at a place called Kayabwe in Mpigi District. While at the equator point you will be standing in both hemispheres (Southern and Northern) at the same time! Enjoy the water rotation experience of both hemispheres as you take various photoshots. After the equator experience, you will proceed along the highway where you will appreciate the grasslands on the interlocking hills of western Uganda, the herds of long horned cows (Nkore Cows) animals, banana plantations and of course smiling faces from old and young, who will keep on waving with sounds of “omuzungu how are you”!, Muzungu means white person. The geographical setting is marvelous and amazing! On arrival in the early afternoon, go for lunch at a lodge of accommodation and then embark on the drive towards the lake for the boat cruise. During the boat cruise, you will see lots of aquatic life like crocodiles, hippos, water birds and various animals. (1night)

Day 3: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

After the game drive at about 11.30am, you will drive to lake Bunyonyi which is about 2 hours through Mbarara City. You will arrive at lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon. At lake Bunyonyi, you will have lunch at one of the lodges after which you will embark on a journey to visit the islands referred to as punishment islands (where girls who would get pregnant before marriage, would be taken for punishment) and Bushara Islands where people with leprosy would be taken for treatment during the days of colonialism. You will come back in the evening and check-in one of the lodges (1night)

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking at Mgahinga National Park

Have an early morning breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi, then get briefs from our guide to prepare you for the journey to Mgahinga National Park located in Kisoro District. The journey may take one-two hours. During the journey to Kisoro, you will experience meandering roads, steep valleys and sharp hills with magnificent sceneries. On arrival at Mgahinga N.P, get set for Gorrila trekking experience which may end in the late afternoon. After Gorrila trekking, you will check in the hotel and also have your lunch. When time allows, you may visit the boarder points (Kyanika for Rwanda or Bunagana for Democratic Republic of Congo) to further relax your mind (1night)

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala

Early in the morning, after breakfast, embark on the long drive back to Kampala. You will arrive in the evening and transfer directly to the airport or to the hotel of your choice depending on your flight. You may also choose a domestic flight to Entebbe just in case the journey back appears long for you.
