Itinerary Detail
Day 1: Pick-up from Airport to hotel
You will be picked up from the airport by our professional guide who will transfer you to the hotel for resting. Our guide will take you through the briefing in order to prepare for the tour.
Overnight stay at: Victoria Royal Beach Hotel / Protea Hotel / or any other lodge of our choice (1 night)
Day 2: Visit to the Equator, Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
An early morning drive from Kampala or Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, stop at the Equator in Kayabwe, Mpigi District, where you will be standing in both hemispheres at the same time! Enjoy the water rotation experience of both hemispheres and take various photos. Continue through the scenic western Uganda countryside, enjoying grasslands, Nkore long-horned cattle, banana plantations, and the friendly local greetings of “omuzungu, how are you?” On arrival in the early afternoon, enjoy lunch at the lodge before embarking on a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Spot crocodiles, hippos, water birds, and other wildlife during the cruise.
Meal Plan: Lunch enroute or at the lodge and dinner at the lodge of our choice such as Luxury Camp or any other lodge of our choice. (1 night)
Day 3: Morning Game Drive or Nature Walk, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Enjoy an early morning guided nature walk or game drive at Lake Mburo National Park. Observe zebras, impalas, oribis, topis, elands, buffaloes, and bird species like scimitar bills, wattled lapwings, red-backed scrub robins, southern ground hornbills, and grey-crowned cranes (Uganda’s national bird). After this, drive to Lake Bunyonyi through Mbarara City, arriving in the afternoon. Explore the famous islands such as Punishment Island and Bushara Island to learn about their historical significance. Check in at a lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking at Mgahinga National Park
Early breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi, followed by a drive to Mgahinga National Park in Kisoro District. Enjoy the scenic journey with meandering roads, steep valleys, and stunning hills. Upon arrival, prepare for the Gorilla trekking adventure, encountering majestic gorillas in their natural habitat. After trekking, check in at your lodge, have lunch, and if time allows, visit the nearby border points of Kyanika (Rwanda) or Bunagana (DR Congo) for a relaxing afternoon.
Overnight stay at: Lodge near Mgahinga National Park (1 night)
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, embark on the journey back to Kampala. Arrive in the evening and transfer directly to the airport or to the hotel of your choice depending on your flight schedule. Domestic flights to Entebbe are also an option if you prefer a shorter journey.
